Description by Dirk-Jan

A bookcase incorporating a piano across a large part of the longest wall in the living room. Most of the wood was sourced from opmaatzagen.nl, with a bit from the hardware store and two profiled lists from a sawmill.

How I Made This Project

I started by sketching out the idea of combining a bookcase and piano into one unit to create a beautiful and functional piece that also accommodates the sound system and LPs. We aimed for a clean, sleek design where everything fits well. After finalizing the sketches, I converted them into working drawings. Then, I ordered the wood in two batches from opmaatzagen.nl. I began by constructing the frame, followed by placing the shelves. I added a profiled list at the top and bottom. We painted the bookcase white using Osmo oil stain (snow white).
