Summary
Make your own Father's Day gift? With the help of this step-by-step plan, you can easily make a Father's Day gift yourself!
Description of KLANTNAAM
It is almost Father's Day, a great day for a sweet gesture! The man who can do anything deserves more than a pair of socks or a new tie. Doesn't he? That is why we made a nice job that every adult, possibly with children, can do. We saw the material to size, so that you only have to screw together the box, fill it personally and give it to him. With pride of course!
How I made this project
You can assemble your Father's Day box easily at home. To help you, we explain it step by step:
Step 1:
Have all your materials and tools ready to use. This takes a little more time beforehand, but it helps enormously if everything is within reach during the job. Above you can see what you can do. You can also place the planks of the box against each other in advance, so you can see how it can be assembled.
Step 2:
First attach the planks with wood glue. This way, the planks are already firmly attached to each other and they will not move if you put any screws in them. Let the glue dry thoroughly. If you have used too much wood glue, that is no problem, as you can easily remove the excess with a damp cloth.
Step 3:
For some extra strength and a somewhat tougher look, you can screw the box together. Pre-drill the screw holes with a 2 mm wood drill, to avoid splitting the wood. You can choose to countersink the screw holes so that the screws are less conspicuous. Then carefully screw the box together.
Step 4:
Lightly sand the ends of the box, remove the dust and paint them evenly with blackboard paint. We used a small paint roller for this, but if you have a brush you can use that too. Just make sure that you don't leave any obvious streaks. Be careful to paint around the edges so that you don't spill paint on the sides of the box. You can tape over the ends to be sure. Allow the paint to dry for 4 hours.
Step 5:
Your box is ready! Write a nice message on the front of the box with chalk or let your child(ren) make a nice drawing. All you have to do now is fill the box!
A Father's Day box full of presents
Now that the box is ready, you can choose its personal content. Fill the box with the goodies or things your dad loves! To get you started, we have gathered some ideas.
BBQ package
With the summer coming up, a BBQ pack is always a good idea! Fill your box with everything you need for barbecuing. A spatula, tongs and a salt and pepper mill are of course essential! Does daddy like to drink a beer with the BBQ? Then attach a bottle opener to the front of the box.
You can also put together a Burgundy Beer Pack! Collect 6 of the most delicious (special) beers and, to make the party complete, you can add a delicious collection of snacks. A block of cheese and a piece of sausage are of course timeless classics, but dates and olives make delicious vegetarian alternatives!
For the dad who can make anything
Is your husband, friend or father a real handyman? Then spoil him with a handyman-themed box. After all, he never has enough!
