How I made this project

I ordered a round piece of MDF with lacquer-carrying foil from TOSIZE.ie. I lightly sanded, cleaned, and degreased it, then painted it with blue high-gloss paint. I applied a thin layer of Alabastine MDF filler over the edges of the MDF, sanded and degreased it, and then painted it. In total, there are three coats of paint on the top, with light sanding between coats.

The lacquer-carrying foil is very easy to paint, but because the table has such a large surface area and it was very warm weather last week, I couldn't get the paint perfectly smooth with a roller. After the third coat, it's reasonably smooth, but next time, I might consider spraying the table or using a brush for the paint. The base is a square IKEA Melltorp base, which I painted red with a can of spray paint.
