Introduction
A combination of storage space and a place to display books and nice accessories—that was the idea for our new cabinet. However, I couldn't find what I had in mind anywhere in regular stores. When I decided it had to be a custom-made cabinet, I was shocked by the prices. Since I am somewhat handy myself—I certainly love DIYs—it seemed like a good idea to just make it myself. But doing this entirely from scratch wasn't something I was creative enough for. And so I discovered TOSIZE.ie, which essentially gave me all the tools to do it myself. I went looking for beautiful models on Pinterest, and based on a cabinet I saw there, I eventually created my own design. It did take more time and patience in the end, especially when I saw how many shelves had to be assembled, but the result is totally worth it. Step by step, I saw my dream cabinet become a reality.
From idea to dream wardrobe
With the idea in mind, I went to the TOSIZE.ie configurator. After measuring a few things in my living room, I created a first basic layout in the configurator. I then played around with different compartment divisions and dimensions.
That configurator is really ideal for trying out different things. Because I couldn't find exactly the wood color I wanted anywhere, I decided to go for MDF Primed material, so that we could give it the perfect color ourselves.
The order

Because of the many small compartments in the cabinet, we really had an enormous number of shelves; that surprised me a bit at first. But there was a clear description on everything, and in the included drawing, you could see exactly which shelf went where.

The final result
I am really super happy with the end result. I had something so specific in mind that I wanted, that I couldn't find it anywhere. This way, I was truly able to create my dream cabinet.
It does take a bit more time to assemble, but at the same time that is a good thing: it costs significantly less than many other custom-made cabinets. I have already recommended TOSIZE.ie to many handy friends!

Step by step guide
Montage
A good start is half the battle: the first beam must be properly aligned and lie straight. Then it is time to place the first layer of uprights. Once they are glued and secured with dowels, the back panels can be installed as well.
Next comes another large beam, and then you repeat the same steps for every row: mount all the uprights, insert the back panels, and then place another beam on top.
Tip: Do you want a ceiling-high cabinet? Then make sure you always leave a few centimeters to spare, otherwise you won't be able to attach the last shelf because you simply won't have enough workspace.
Finish
Once the last plank is in place, it is time to paint. But not before the MDF has been thoroughly degreased and lightly sanded. Then the first coat of paint can go on—in my case, a nice brown color.
To ensure the cabinet is well covered, several coats are required. The cabinet doors are included as well.
Tip: Even if the cabinet is primed, degrease it thoroughly and lightly sand the shelves. This ensures the paint adheres better. And oh yes, buy high-quality paint. That will save you a round of painting (or two).
Once the paint is completely covered, the doors can be mounted. The mounting plates go on the inside of the cabinet. You then simply slide the hinges, which are screwed onto the doors, into them.
The cabinet is handleless, so push-to-open pins still need to be installed so that you can easily open the doors. You can also adjust the doors slightly if necessary, and once the shelves are in place, it will be truly finished!

General experience
The delivery time for our flat-pack kit was significantly shorter than many other custom-made cabinets I had come across during my search. And when it turned out we were still on vacation during the delivery, they were very helpful and the delivery time was rescheduled.
The instructions were all super clear, making assembling the cabinet very easy.
