In our small study I made a floating desk between the two walls. The top consists of two underlayment plates to achieve the desired thickness (24 mm). The desk is then placed on a frame of pine beams. Nice workplace!

Work description: how did you realize your project

For the top I had two underlayment plates of 12 mm cut to size by Opmaatzagen.nl. Have both front panels chamfered at the top or bottom to have a nice and smooth finish on the side you are sitting on. First, both plates are exactly fixed to each other with wood glue and a few screws (3.5x16mm) on the underside of the leaf. I chose 2x 12 mm to get a nice thickness of 24 mm for the table top (not too thin and not too thick). Then a frame made of pine beams along the two side walls and back wall (35x69) and a crossbar (44x44), which is attached with angle irons between the wall beams. Finally, cutouts were made for the radiator tubes and the desktop finished with a clear furniture lacquer.

Final size: What are the outer dimensions?

Desk: 70.0 cm x 190.0 cm
