Kitchen Doors

Are your kitchen doors in need of replacement? New kitchen doors can be quite pricey and picking out new ones that match your interior can be a tough search. So why not get to work making your own wooden DIY kitchen doors? Our handymen have already created a number of projects that you can use as inspiration or to pick up some handy tips.

Replacing kitchen doors

Kitchen doors are often damaged faster than the rest of the kitchen. So a kitchen can look used when it's actually still in good condition. Replacing the kitchen doors is then a sustainable way to give your kitchen a beautiful facelift. Of course, you can order new kitchen doors, but you can also customise them.

Customise kitchen doors

Making new kitchen doors yourself is a fun job. If you make new kitchen doors yourself, you have complete freedom in designing your kitchen. Replacing kitchen doors can be a daunting experience, but with the right preparation anyone can do it. The most important thing is to make the doors look as similar as possible to the old ones in terms of size and cut-outs for hinges and handles. Not sure how to do that? Check out the DIY projects below for inspiration and information.

Making kitchen doors from MDF

A popular material for making new kitchen doors is MDF. In particular, the vochtwerende (V313) variant is widely used. MDF is easy to work with and can also be finished off neatly. This allows you to very easily finish kitchen doors made of MDF to your own taste. Besides MDF you can of course also use other types of wood, but it is important that you use a type of wood that has good moisture-resistant properties. With moisture from the dishwasher, sink and the like, you obviously want your new kitchen doors to last as long as possible.
