By using birch plywood for his hanging sideboard, he brought the Scandinavian style into his kitchen. Curious about how Laurens realized his hanging sideboard? Read on to learn about his project.

Description by Laurens

A hanging sideboard for our kitchen made of birch plywood. Natural materials, in a minimalist/mid-century modern/Scandinavian style. A convenient place to store books among other things.

How I made this project

We searched for examples on Pinterest that we liked. Enter my attic, for example, has a nice set of instructions. Based on that, we made a drawing and tinkered with it until we were satisfied. Then we figured out what materials we needed and ordered wood from TOSIZE.ie, along with varnish for the furniture, screws, brackets, dowels, etc. from the local hardware store. First, we measured and placed all the dowels, then assembled everything with wood glue in between and routed the holes for the doors. We only varnished the furniture at the end, when only the top still needed to be attached. Then we hung it on two white brackets because of the weight. This last part could possibly be different to make it floating.
