Bram wanted to create a play area for his 1-year-old son with storage space for toys. On the left side, there are shelves for storage bins, in their case, IKEA storage bins. At the back, a magnetic/chalkboard was made for drawing and attaching magnets. Underneath the table, there's space for 2 children's chairs.

Description by Bram

We wanted to create a play area for our 1-year-old son with storage space for toys. On the left side, there are shelves for storage bins, in our case, IKEA storage bins. At the back, a magnetic/chalkboard was made for drawing and attaching magnets. Underneath the table, there's space for 2 children's chairs.

How I Made This Project

The oak panels were custom ordered from opmaatzagen.nl. We chose oak wood so that scratches and such wouldn't be easily visible. The panels were attached with 4.5+5 screws to give extra strength to the furniture. Screw holes were pre-drilled with a 4mm wood drill bit, and a countersink bit was used to hide the screw heads. Felt was attached to the bottom of the panels to prevent scratches. The shelves on the left side are customizable, depending on the type of storage bins used.
