Description by Andre

The 3-month-old dog should be able to walk back and forth between the floors by herself. For this, a ramp should cover the steps. The actual incline, which was sometimes 40 degrees, was covered with carpet so that there was enough grip for the dog's paws, especially when going down. Many friends were skeptical beforehand as to whether the dog would even be able to use the ramp due to the incline, but the doubters have fallen silent. It took a lot of time to integrate it into the stairwell as perfectly as possible, but it was worth it!

How I did this project

Ordered the lying boards in 25 cm cuts from TOSIZE.ie - 9 mm thick. Some steps were left out to allow the angle of incline to be as flat as possible. While the brick staircase provides support on one side, a wall was attached 17 cm to the side with angle pieces from the remaining cut pieces so that the dog does not jump sideways onto the stairs. Then support feet were mounted from square wood so that the long boards have enough support and do not bend. Finally, the structure was painted black and the lying area was lined with 100 cm x 25 cm carpet tiles. The little dog Pia accepted the ramp after a short training session and is happy to be able to follow us everywhere.
