A seating alcove in the kitchen, yes I wanted that! At the kitchen shop (I won't say which one, but you can buy tasty Swedish meatballs there) they were a bit surprised by this. They did fix it, but I wasn't completely satisfied with the finish. With the help of TOSIZE.ie I transformed the seating niche into a beautiful and sleek whole!

Description from Aylin (@okermint)

The original finish was not beautiful

With some tinkering, the kitchen supplier managed to create the seating niche from a technical point of view. However, the finish... well, it left something to be desired. The width of the niche is 80.0 cm and this size was not available in covering panels. That became 2 panels with a seam randomly somewhere on the right. Now I'm not an obsessive symmetry enthusiast, but this just wasn't it. The sawn edges have a messy finish. It's a shame actually.

To make something fun out of it, I painted the whole thing at the time, but that didn't work. You could easily scrape it off. Of course there are worse things in the world, but that niche as I had in mind... Could this really not be realized?

Aylin takes you along in this do-it-yourself job story. She easily made a seating niche in the kitchen unit herself using cut-to-size sheet material from TOSIZE.ie. Are you reading me?

That could certainly be done differently!

That could certainly be done differently, said TOSIZE.ie! I grabbed my measuring tape, opened my laptop and within 5 minutes my order was placed.

{ { 'Blank MDF'|trans }} It became 12 mm thick. Special primer for clear MDF was used and then the Brasserie color was applied. The color itself is beautiful, but turned out a bit heavy for my taste.

A different color after all

No problem, an extra trip to the hardware store and I have the color I want! This is the color ncss2005g20y (Natural Green from Sigma), the same shade as the other side of our kitchen.
