In the kitchen we made a 6 meter long bench. We use it as a seating area at the dining table, as a desk/play table for our children and under the sofa there is storage space in the cupboards. The oak top is almost 6 meters long (consisting of three pieces) and 40 mm thick.

Work description: how did you realize your project

We have used IKEA best TV cabinets as a substructure. These are slightly raised by a (painted white) framework of trellis. We placed IKEA cabinets on this (and reinforced it on the inside because of the heavy top that will be placed on it). We impregnated the oak top with extra matt lacquer and fixed the three parts on top of the cabinets, in order to make a long seat. We have left space between the cabinets, so that it can also serve as a game table in addition to a sofa.

46.0 cm deep, almost 6 meters long, 4.0 cm thick
