Make a chimney conversion for an electric fireplace

We have made a conversion for our electric fireplace. Very handy that all necessary shelves and the MDF Paint Wear were made to measure.

Making the conversion

The front parts are mitred so that all planks fit together perfectly and tightly. The whole has been reinforced with the help of slats and wood glue. We first assembled the bottom and then placed the top part. The mantelpiece is partly papered and the lower part is lacquered with high-gloss white. We have hung two lights at the top so that the chimney is lit during the day. And in the evening the fireplace can be turned on for extra atmosphere. An open space has been left at the back of the chimney for a socket. This can be achieved by creating a grid on the side. Now just a stovepipe and tiles at the bottom and the fireplace is perfect!
