Step by step guide
Preparation
- First I drew the plan on paper, then I ordered the wood.
Montage
- Putting the cabinet together was fairly easy. I just had to do some trial drilling to get the hinges at the right distance. This was my first time drilling hinge holes myself. Super fun!
Finish
- I wanted a green base for the cabinet, which I did with Annie Sloan paint (Olive). There are also metal support brackets under the base, to prevent sagging. I also stained the cabinet (a 1:1 mix between Gamma wood stain oak & white oak), to give it a more finished look to the Polish pine, and to match my hall bench. For handles I drilled two holes with the tool I also used to drill the hinge holes.
Tips from Nynke
