Description

MDF fire retardant Oak mix veneer has a hard and ready-to-use surface and is fire-retardant due to the addition of special salts. It has great bending strength and does not, or barely, work, making this product ideal for the interior and furniture industries where fire safety is especially important.

This fire-retardant board has an oak veneer top layer, giving it a natural look. It is important to varnish the veneer layer so that you can enjoy it for an extra long time. The end edges are not finished as standard and do need to be treated.

MDF fire retardant Oak mix veneer: what is it?

MDF fire retardant Oak mix veneer is the variant you choose when reduced fire reaction, flame spread or smoke development are required. For example, in doors, partitions and interior fittings. MDF fire-retardant is characterised by its red colour.

MDF fire retardant Oak mix veneer is designed for indoor applications where increased fire safety requirements are required. MDF fire-retardant boards slow down fire propagation and smoke production. The board is composed of dried wood fibres and glue. These wood fibres are then compressed under high pressure and temperatures to form an MDF board.

Oak veneer top layer, panel material with a natural look

Unlike melaminated board material, the top layer of veneered panels is a layer of real wood. This gives the material a calm, natural look. Because it is a natural product, there may be colour and texture differences between different panels. No two panels are the same. In addition, it is important that this panel is finished with a lacquer or oil as desired. This prevents discolouration and preserves the top layer.

Veneered board material has the big advantage over solid board material that it does not warp. The MDF core of this board material gives it the advantages of MDF, but the appearance of solid and natural wood.

Crown cut or Quartered veneer

Cutting logs is usually done in two different ways: crown / plain or kwartiers. When the wood is cut crown / plain , long slices are cut lengthwise. This allows the flames of the material to be clearly seen and makes the best use of the wood. When the wood kwartiers is sawn, it is cut with the grain. This gives kwartiers sawn timber a calm appearance and relatively straight lines. In mix, these two techniques are processed interchangeably and used during veneer assembly. This creates a natural look and makes each panel unique.

Available thicknesses of  MDF fire retardant Oak mix veneer

MDF can be ordered in different thicknesses. You can easily indicate your desired thickness during the ordering process. This way, you can be sure that the board material meets your requirements: both the size and thickness of the material. The following thicknesses are available: 20 mm.

Machining MDF fire-retardant boards

The board consists of wood fibres compressed under high pressure. This makes the material easy to work with. When milling or sawing, this board material does not splinter. The fibres are held together by resin. This makes it important to degrease the board well before lacquering the material. Veneered MDF is only suitable for indoor applications and in dry conditions.

Sawing leaves the edges 'open'. These still need to be finished, which can be done with veneer tape.

Specific uses of MDF fire retardant Oak mix veneer

MDF fire-retardant is used as wall cladding, partitions, ceiling panels and display panels. MDF veneered, also called veneer MDF, is a wide-ranging board suitable for a variety of interior applications. A door, an enclosure for pipework, a bookshelf, a TV cabinet and a partition wall are some examples of the application possibilities of veneered MDF. Its homogeneous structure makes MDF less susceptible to shrinking and expanding at varying temperatures than other board materials. This MDF veneer is not suitable for use in damp rooms or outdoors.
