A rock-solid homemade flight case for transporting a speaker set, by Kees

Description of Kees

I made a special box for my HK speaker set (HK Linear 5 112FA and HK Linear SUB1200), so that I can transport four speakers at once without damaging the speakers. I made the design myself in Solidworks, I ordered the wood cut to size and I ordered the profiles in long lengths. I also ordered the handles, latches and hinges. I ordered all these parts directly from Penn-Elcom.

How I made this project

After unpacking all the records, I sorted everything and determined what I wanted to start with. First I cut the aluminum profiles to size and drilled holes for the pop rivets. I then modified some plates with a jigsaw for the handles and closures. After this I assembled the box with special pop rivets for wood. I then installed the handles, latches and wheels. Finally, I finished the box with hard foam, so that the speakers are not damaged.
