A beautiful custom-made wardrobe and entirely conceived and installed by Rob. Made using custom-cut pine and oak panels. A wonderful addition to Rob's hallway.

Rob's Description

A closet for coats and shoes in a recess in the hallway. Above, shelves for storing items. Both closets behind 26mm thick oak doors. Below, plinth drawers for gloves, hats, slippers, and the like.

How I Made This Project

In the recess, I created a framework using 28mm thick pine planks. These were screwed together and then placed in the recess. The framework was secured to the sides of the recess. Next, the framework was coated with a clear lacquer (3 layers), which were sanded in between. Then, the doors were measured and ordered. Upon arrival, these doors were also coated with 3 layers of clear lacquer and hung on the white edge of the closet using black hinges, black door handles, and magnetic closures. The whole design matches the staircase in the hallway (see photo 5).
