How I made this project

Step 1

Have all your materials and tools ready to use. This takes a little more time beforehand, but it helps enormously if everything is within reach during the job.

Step 2

Place the large 18.0 x 180.0 cm wall board on your work table. Measure where you want to attach the shelves and the mirror. See our design as an example, but you can of course make a different arrangement. Draw this on both the front and the back of the wall shelf. It is useful to ask for assistance with this.

Step 3

Apply the wood glue to the short sides of the shelf supports and fasten them. The bevelled edge of the shelf bearer points downwards. Lay the shelf down and leave to dry (the glue packaging tells you how long it takes to dry). Any excess wood glue can be easily removed with a damp cloth.

Step 4

Then screw on the 6 shelf supports and the hook from the back of the wall shelf for extra sturdiness. It is useful to ask for some assistance with this. Don't forget to pre-drill the holes to prevent the wood from splitting. This is especially important if you are going to screw into the end grain of plywood. Attach two screws to the front of the wall board to hang the mirror.

Step 5

Gebruik schuurpapier met een fijne korrel (maximaal 180) om de potloodstrepen die in zicht zijn eventueel weg te werken.

Step 6

Apply wood glue to the top of the shelf supports and place the board on top. You can screw the boards down for extra strength, but this is not necessary.

Step 7: Finished!

Time to enjoy the end result! Take a look in the mirror and pat yourself on the back... You did it!
