Our study had two separate desks and not enough storage space. We wanted to create more cohesion and tranquility by making one long desk with cupboard space underneath. We also looked for a convenient place for the printer. We have concealed it in one of the cabinets, with a pull-out shelf.

How I Made This Project

The desktop consists of two separate panels of the same size (30 mm plywood). This way, we could adjust the height of the desktop precisely for both of us. Halfway through, the continuous desktop shifts, but this also adds a playful touch. The cabinets supporting the desktop offer plenty of storage space. They are made of 18 mm plywood. For the drawers, we used existing ones. Conveniently, we only had to give them a new front! The printer can be accessed by folding down the front of the pull-out tray (on wheels). This way, the printer is out of sight but still within reach. On the right side, the desktop is supported by a beam that we mounted on the wall.
