IKEA cabinet with Multiplex Birch Fronts, by Kevin

Description

Based on the perfectly cut-to-size fronts from TOSIZE.co.uk, we covered this cabinet with Multiplex Birch fronts. The cabinet is an IKEA Faktum cabinet where the fronts have been replaced to easily create a high-quality cabinet.

Fronts of multiplex birch

First of all, we milled the hinge points out of the wood so that they fit perfectly on the IKEA Faktum cabinets. We then milled out a handle with an end mill so that the cabinet looks handleless, which gives a nice result. Naturally, the cabinet has been neatly sanded for a nice result. Finally, we milled a metal strip on the back against any warping. Of course it remains wood, which also makes a solid wood product what it is.
