Description by Bas

In our home, we had rotten planks on the two access hatches. We replaced these with custom-cut concrete plywood sheets. We sealed the edges with boat varnish to prevent moisture from penetrating.

How We Tackled This Access Hatch Project

  1. Measure twice, cut once.
  2. Asked for advice via chat and ordered through the website.
  3. Cut two planks at home to fit (including two cutouts).
  4. Created and attached a lip on the side for easy removal of the planks. The lip is made from a backpack strap.
  5. Sealed edges with boat varnish. Also applied a layer of boat varnish on the top and bottom (optional). However, this did not adhere completely well (I think I may have not done it perfectly).
  6. Finally, placed the doormat on top.

What are the dimensions?
