Sandra's description

Since we sleep under a sloping wall, I missed the opportunity to sit on the bed. There you have it, a simple design for a headboard! Both sides have a cupboard niche, so the back wall is, as it were, hollow in the middle. I did make 2 uprights from scrap wood that I had lying around, so that the top plate does not bend. The cubes at the front, which are painted gold (matching the wallpaper elsewhere in the bedroom), are simply glued in place, because there is not much else to do with it. than glasses and earphones.

How I made this project

3 plates of 80 x 76.9 3 plates of 80 x 32.4 for the conversion, from 0, 9cm thickness. These were neatly mitered.

For the 2 shelves on both sides of the furniture I used MDF of 3.0 cm thick (the same thickness as the frame of the bed) 40 deep by 76 high and 21 wide (the shelves fall between the uprights. And both have a back wall (0.9 cm). The 2 'cubes' are again mitered and 0.9 cm. 15 x 20 cm all 4 sides. /p>

I ultimately decided to paint it the same color as the paneling. And there you have a simple but effective headboard (of course the tape has now also been removed :) )

Dimensions of my DIY project

76.9 x 240.0 x 32.4 cm
