Black MDF cove for the extractor hood

What have you made?

In connection with a new kitchen, I made a cove of MDF to allow the installation depth of the ceiling extractor hood. I then immediately put Philips Hue colored recessed spotlights in it.

How did you make the cove?

Black MDF was used because the final color had to be lava. Saw this to size, which of course fit well in one go! Measuring is the most important part of the job. Then fixed mounting battens to the ceiling, MDF panels for the mounting of the ledge around, which is used for mounting the ceiling plates. Sockets for spotlights and extractor hood fitted, after mounting to the ceiling, finishing was quick and easier, next week the extractor hood will come which has to fit in one go. Then plug in and you're done!
