Judith has refreshed her older pine cabinet with new pine doors, giving her cabinet a fresh look. With the help of a magnet, the cabinet doors close very well. She also made original handles using thick rope, giving the cabinet doors a rugged appearance. Need inspiration? Read more about Judith's DIY project here!

Description by Judith

We have given our older pine cabinet two rows of doors. It used to be an open cabinet. We open them with original handles made of thick rope.

How I made this project

  1. Measure the cabinet and have the doors cut to fit the compartments; the sawmill conveniently numbers all the doors
  2. Measure and mark where hinges, magnets, latch, and handle should go
  3. Drill holes in all doors for a handle/rope
  4. Cut ropes, thread them through the holes, and tie them securely at the back
  5. Attach the magnetic closure to the cabinet and the metal plate to the door
  6. Attach the hinges to the door and the cabinet, ensuring everything is securely fastened
  7. Enjoy the cabinet :-)
