A change from my current speaker to another smaller design. A totally different concept and appearance, while retaining the current drivers.

Custom speaker conversion

As in the 1st photo, this was quite a rough design. And wanted from a white to a black speaker. So after a test setup (photo 2) came to a detailed drawing. After some deliberation, I wanted to create it in zwart mdf . detailed drawing made, sizes devised. So switching to ordering, this was very clear and easy. It also surprised me how quickly I could collect the wood already. So it were 3 boxes, and neatly packaged. Also easy were the codes that I had made and that they had pasted on it. Then the dustiest work began, the milling of all the holes. Pffff what a dust, My advice, a good dust extraction and mouth mask. With milling I immediately noticed that it has a nice density, completely different quality from that of the DIY store. Most of it is glued, but there are screws here and there that you cannot see. Again, I noticed that the material does not crumble as much as the MDF from the DIY store. Is it ultimately more expensive as a sheet at the hardware store, YES. But this precision of how it is cut and the better quality material make it all worthwhile
