We are expecting our little Helena in June and were looking for a changing table. Since we didn't like many of the finished chests of drawers, we set about building a changing table that was right for us. What was important to us was a pine wood look. We also bought ready-made drawers from a well-known furniture store and refined the whole thing with a modern design. The three large drawers offer enough space for laundry, diapers, cream, oil and many other things that we need for our baby. We really like the chest of drawers and can also say that we built most of it ourselves.

Job description: How did you realize your project

It was important to us that we had enough space for the changing mat. This is 70 cm long for us. Therefore, we decided to build the chest of drawers 72cm deep. The drawers measure 80cm x 50cm, so it was clear we needed a chest of drawers - the inside dimensions for the drawers were 80cm. We also wanted to achieve a total height of approx. 95cm, so we needed matching feet of 25cm. In addition, the length of the side boards is 66cm. All four boards were screwed together at right angles. In order to hide the screws for connecting the top board and the clipboard, we drilled so-called pocket holes and connected the boards together with back wall screws. Last but not least, the rails for the drawers were mounted at the same height, the finished drawers were installed, a handle was mounted in the middle of each and the four feet were screwed on at the same distance from the outer edge of the lower board. Everything sanded clean and oiled - done!
