Custom-made box for dog made of concrete plywood for tricycle, by Ellis

Ellis has made a custom sturdy crate for her dog, allowing the dog to safely accompany her on outings. She used betonplex for this project, resulting in a beautiful and practical outcome!

A betonplex crate with a flap hinge so the dog can easily get in and out. The front plate is angled to ensure my heels don't hit the crate while cycling. The current wire basket was not sturdy and therefore unsafe. Now the dog can safely come along on the back of the tricycle.

How I made this project

I used the wire basket for the dimensions. First, I tested the height of the crate with cardboard. Measured everything and placed the order. Added 2 extra boards for stability. Bottom 12mm, sides, and flap 9mm. Measured holes, lightly sanded the boards, and varnished them. Assembled the crate with bolts, nuts, and washers. Then I realized that the reinforcement wasn't needed, but I used it for the hinge attachment of the flap instead. Mounted the crate on the bike. My partner tightened all the bolts properly, and it was done.
